Some Tips to Identify Large Mid-Atlantic Birds

If, for some reason, you want to specifically identify large mid-Atlantic birds (as opposed to all mid-Atlantic birds like any sane birder would - or is "sane birder" an oxymoron?), fear not - there are indeed ways to focus on just the largest of the large. Get yourself a good bird book (Sibley's guide to eastern North American birds is among the best), focus your attention on the front part of the book where all the biggies are (shorebirds, birds of prey and so on) and arm yourself with a spotting scope and a pair of binoculars - within no time you will be in big bird heaven. Oh, and check out this worthy website to pick up some birding skills. Now, go out and identify yourself some big birds!
