Want to Know How to Calculate the Energy in Natural Gas?

How much energy is contained in natural gas? To calculate figures like these, you have the know the conversion factors that link natural gas volume to energy. According to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, you can multiply the volume of the gas in cubic feet by 1028 to get the energy in BTUs (British Thermal Units). And there are other factors to derive the energy in other units.

Try the following websites to figure it all out:

Some Tips to Identify Large Mid-Atlantic Birds

If, for some reason, you want to specifically identify large mid-Atlantic birds (as opposed to all mid-Atlantic birds like any sane birder would - or is "sane birder" an oxymoron?), fear not - there are indeed ways to focus on just the largest of the large. Get yourself a good bird book (Sibley's guide to eastern North American birds is among the best), focus your attention on the front part of the book where all the biggies are (shorebirds, birds of prey and so on) and arm yourself with a spotting scope and a pair of binoculars - within no time you will be in big bird heaven. Oh, and check out this worthy website to pick up some birding skills. Now, go out and identify yourself some big birds!

Answers to questions obvious and obscure

Welcome to Life, Answered! In this blog I will post questions and answers about things big and small. Things you might or might not care about, but over time I hope there will be something here for everyone. And why do I do this, you may ask? Because I can. Because I enjoy finding out about things and then sharing the wisdom (or the meaningless trivia, as the case might be). Because I hope you will share your Jeopardy winnings with me when you hit the jackpot as a result of something you learned on my blog. Just kidding. Anyway, stay tuned and get ready to learn stuff about stuff over the days, weeks and months ahead. Or prepare to be bored out of your mind. Whatever.
